Warren & Eric met in Denton, Texas in 1976 and performed together for over 27 years, utilizing six and twelve string acoustic and electric guitars, bass, saxophones, autoharp, kazoo, washboard and their dynamic vocal harmonies. |
Warren moved to Colorado in 1979 and Eric followed a year later. They performed together in several bands and as a duo in night clubs, and at festivals and concerts. |
In 1991 they released the album Tired & Decaffeinated featuring original tunes and previously unrecorded material by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands' Jimmie Fadden, Jon Ims (who has written hits for Reba McIntyre, Trisha Yearwood, The Dixie Chicks and others) and Casey Kelly (who has written for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Johnny Rivers, George Strait, Kenny Rogers, The Neville Brothers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tanya Tucker and others). |
Throughout the '90's, when Eric and I played together, it was almost exclusively as an acoustic duo, although we never let that limit us. We played a lot of rock and roll music in an acoustic format. One night we closed a set with Jimi Hendrix's arrangement of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower. Eric played his Martin guitar through a processor and the sounds from his guitar included delay, wah wah, distortion, etc. just like Jimi's original. Turns out a Martin guitar rep was in the audience. He walked up to Eric and said, "I don't know whether to take that guitar away from you or make a poster." What a proud moment that was. |
Tired & Decaffeinated, the album by Floyd & Baker, has been remastered and is now available in CD format.
